Whatever your feelings are regarding the Cosmopolitan, it is arguably one of the most influential cocktails to come along in the past 25 years. Now, it's time for an upgrade, a re-imagined Cosmo for today's tastes.
Note: If you can't find cranberry sorbet at your local grocer, there are several great recipes online. One of my favorites is a cranberry vanilla sorbet from Lottie and Doof.

Cocktail shaker and strainer
Ingredients
2 ounces citrus vodka (such as Ketel One Citroen)
2 tablespoons cranberry sorbet (see note above)
1/4 ounce fresh lime juice from 1 lime
3/4 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce brut sparkling wine
Procedures
Combine vodka, cranberry sorbet, lime juice, and Cointreau in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, top with sparkling wine, and serve.
